Dark Facts, Kamen Rider: Part 2

March 22, 2026

Ryuki’s Battle Royale: Kamen Rider Ryuki introduced a system where 13 Riders were forced to kill each other. There was no “greater good”—the winner simply got one wish, while the losers were erased from existence.

The Death of Shinji Kido: The main protagonist of Ryuki actually dies in the penultimate episode while protecting a civilian. He never gets to see the end of the war he spent the entire series trying to stop.

555’s Dying Race: The Orphnochs in Faiz are humans who died and came back. However, their bodies are rapidly breaking down into ash. They kill humans to create more of their kind simply so their race doesn’t go extinct.

The “Lucky Clover” Orphans: The protagonists of Faiz were orphans who were “experimented” on during a school reunion massacre. Their entire life was a setup by a corporation (Smart Brain) that viewed them as lab rats.

Blade’s Final Sacrifice: To stop a literal apocalypse (The Monolith), Kazuma Kenzaki intentionally transformed himself into an “Undead” monster. Since two
Undead cannot coexist without the world ending, he fled into exile, forced to be alone forever.

Hibiki’s Child Soldiering: Hibiki focuses on “Oni” who train for decades to fight. The dark subtext is the grooming of young boys like Asumu into a lifestyle of constant physical pain and social isolation.

Kabuto’s Worm Replacements: The villains in Kabuto kill humans and perfectly mimic their appearance and memories. Many characters discover halfway through the show that they aren’t the “original” and that their real selves were murdered years ago.

Den-O’s Erased Timelines: Every time a “Singularity Point” fails, entire timelines and the billions of people living in them are erased from history, forgotten by everyone as if they never existed.

Kiva’s Star-Crossed Tragedy: The show jumps between the 80s and 2008, showing how a father’s love for a monster led to a life of misery for his son, who is hunted by both humans and his own kind.

Decade’s “Destroyer” Destiny: Tsukasa Kadoya is told from the start that his only purpose is to destroy all other Rider worlds. He is a hero defined by the genocide of other heroes’ universes.

W’s “Museum” of Drugs: The “Gaia Memories” are essentially highly addictive narcotics that transform users into monsters. The villainous family sold these “drugs” to the citizens of Fuuto, watching them destroy themselves for profit.

OOO’s Hollow Void: Eiji Hino is a man with “no desire” because he watched a village burn down while he was powerless to stop it. His heroism is actually a symptom of severe PTSD and a lack of self-worth.

Fourze’s High School Cult: The “Zodiarts” are students who use cosmic switches to escape bullying or loneliness. The dark reality is that using the switches eventually traps their souls in space, leaving their bodies as catatonic husks.

Wizard’s “Sabbath” Massacre: Haruto became a Rider by being the “sole survivor” of a ritual where hundreds of people were forced to give birth to inner monsters (Phantoms), watching everyone around him die in agony.

Gaim’s Cosmic Horror: What looks like a dance-battle show turns into a war over a fruit that turns people into mindless zombies (Inves). The “Helheim
Forest” is an interdimensional parasite that has consumed countless planets.

The Death of Hase: In Gaim, a minor Rider (Hase) eats the forest fruit and becomes a monster. The protagonist, Kouta, is forced to watch as Hase is hunted and killed by other “heroes” for being a nuisance.

Drive’s Global Freeze: The “Roidmudes” committed a global “Slowdown” that killed thousands. Their motive was the desire to “become human,” but they could only do so by copying the most negative, sinful traits of their creators.

Ghost’s 99-Day Deadline: Takeru Tenkuji dies in the first episode. He spends the entire show as a ghost with a literal timer counting down to his “permanent” death, unable to touch the world he’s trying to save.

Ex-Aid’s Gaming Virus: The “Bugster Virus” kills the host to manifest. Many doctors in the show have to choose which patients to save and which to “delete,” mirroring the cold logic of a triage unit.

Build’s Human Experimentation: The “Smash” monsters are civilians kidnapped and pumped with Nebula Gas. If a Rider defeats them too quickly, the gas kills the host instantly.

Zi-O’s Tyrant Future: The protagonist, Sougo, is destined to become “Ohma Zi-O,” a demon king who enslaves the planet and kills all other Riders. The show is about him trying to avoid becoming a monster he has already become.

The “Amazons” Reboot: The Kamen Rider Amazons web series features “Amazon” cells that need to eat human flesh. The “heroes” are effectively cannibals who have to suppress their hunger or be hunted by the government.
