During the Mighty Morphin to Zeo transition, the Rangers were turned into children, and the Alien Rangers stepped in to defend the planet. If the Alien Rangers had stayed on Earth permanently, the Power Rangers franchise would have become an “interstellar alliance” show much earlier. Earth would have become a hub for galactic refugees, and the Zeo Rangers would have functioned as an elite “Special Forces” unit while the Aquitians handled day-to-day global defense.

The environmental themes of the show would have been amplified, as the Aquitians’ need for water would have forced the Rangers to take a stance on Earth’s pollution and climate. This would have turned the Rangers into political figures as much as superheroes. The battle against the Machine Empire would have been fought on two fronts: the technical/mechanical side handled by the Zeo Rangers and the biological/elemental side handled by the Aquitians, creating a much more complex and layered war.
